Pedagogical knowledge practices — planning, timetabling, preparation, strategies
The purpose of this unit is to share ideas and practical examples of how to guide student teachers in developing their teaching practices. These practices are – but not limited to – lesson planning, timetabling, preparation, teaching strategies and content knowledge.
By the end of this unit, you should:
- Have practical suggestions on how to mentor student teachers regarding the subject planning process
- Be able to guide student teachers on lesson planning and preparation
- Be able to explain why teachers use particular teaching strategies
- Be able to come up with ideas on how to assist student teachers in building subject content knowledge
