This ability is essential to stimulate the self-discovery by the student teacher. A key task of the mentor teacher is to build the confidence of the student teacher (Hudson). Student teachers usually lack confidence in their own abilities and knowledge. As a mentor teacher, you will need to scaffold their knowledge and performance in order to grow their self-confidence.
