The end of Module 1
You have now completed Module 1 and should have a much better understanding of:
- The definition of mentorship
- A definition of mentorship applicable to your own practice
- The difference between coaching and mentoring
- The mentoring process
- The developmental life cycle of the student teacher
In the next Module, we will explore two stages in the mentoring process in more detail:
- the abilities and characteristics of a mentor teacher (Contemplation stage) and
- how to begin the relationship with your student teacher (Initiation stage).
Before you move on, perhaps it is time to remind yourself of what it feels like to be a first year teacher. Here are the links to two videos that you will find on YouTube. |
