Creating awareness about the school’s administrative procedures opens the exosystem for your student. To fully grasp the ambit of the administrative work required of teachers, expose your student teacher by doing the following: |
- Encourage the student teacher to attend staff meetings and planning meetings.
- Show the student teacher how the intended curriculum changes during implementation (the actual or implemented curriculum) and discuss how you deal with these changes.
- Actively engage the student teacher in programming – talk about the curriculum and provide an understanding of the system requirements (the big picture).
- Outline available resources for understanding the curriculum (websites, library resources and teachers’ reference books).
- Encourage the student teacher to attend cluster meetings.
